"Not at all. In the cooling mode, energy consumption is the same. When you use a mini split in the heat mode, it is very efficient. Compare the Sanyo 18KS72 (cool only) and 18KHS72 (heat and cool). In the cooling mode both units draw 1.2 to 7 amps.…"
